ABOUT THE VILLAGE OF NORTHWOOD RIDGE WATER DISTRICT

The Village of Northwood Ridge Water District (VNWRWD) provides safe, reliable drinking water to the the Village of Northwood Ridge, an area located within the Town of Northwood, New Hampshire. In the 1980's, it was found that privately-owned wells in Northwood Ridge were contaminated with petrochemical pollution - making the drinking water unsafe.  A water supply and distribution project was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) to address the emergency. The project was completed in 1989 and serves approximately 55 customers, including the Northwood School. A map of VNWRWD boundary and the contaminated areas is provided below.
